In-warranty return of defective products

We provide a one-year warranty from date of purchase for all Minstruments and Exel products. During this warranty period, any malfunctioning Minstruments product not damaged by the user will be repaired or exchanged for a new unit (at our sole discretion) at no charge by NTI Americas. If your Minstruments product malfunctions and is covered by the warranty, ship it to the address below along with a copy of your sales receipt or invoice showing date of purchase as well as a note describing the problem encountered. While return shipping is paid by NTI Americas, the cost of shipping the malfunctioning unit to NTI Americas is the responsibility of the customer. It is recommended to use bubble wrap or similar packing material to fully immobilize the unit in its package. Additionally, the package should be insured for the value of the unit.

Restrictions and caveats

This warranty does not cover damages caused through accidents, misuse, lack of care, the attachment or installation of any components that were not provided with the product, loss of parts, connecting the instrument to a power supply, input signal voltage or connector type other than specified, or wrongly polarized batteries. In particular, no responsibility is granted for special, incidental or consequential damages.

This warranty becomes void if servicing or repairs of the product are performed by any party other than an authorized NTI service center or if the instrument has been opened in a manner other than that specified in the manual.

No other warranty, written or verbal, is authorized by NTI. Except as otherwise stated in these terms, NTI makes no representation or warranty of any kind, expressed or implied in law or in fact, including, without limitation, merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose and assumes no liability, either in tort, strict liability, contract or warranty for products.

Non-warranty service

For repair of malfunctioning Minstruments and Exel products not covered by the warranty described above, ship the unit to NTI Americas using the same instructions as for warranty repairs. We will make an estimate of the cost of repair; if this exceeds a reasonable amount (e.g. $250 for the Minirator MR1) or repair is not practical, certain products can be exchanged for a factory-refurbished one. Return shipping must also be paid as part of the repair/replacement charges.

For housing or display damage of some Minstruments and Exel products, individual part replacement kits are available for user repairs as an alternative to returning the entire unit to NTI.

Calibration services

NTI Americas offers calibration services for customers' regulatory compliance requirements. Calibration is done at the cost of the customer in all circumstances, regardless of warranty status. The procedure for submitting Minstruments for calibration is similar to that for non-warranty repairs; likewise, return shipping must be paid as part of the calibration charges.
